Roseburg is located in southwestern Oregon on the Umpqua River. Located about 60 mi south of Eugene, Roseburg is the seat of Douglas County. Situated amid the Douglas-fir stands of the Cascade Range (to the east) and Coast Ranges (to the west), Roseburg has prospered through the 20th century as the focal point for a vast logging and lumbering industry. Tourism is also an important aspect of the economy, and the city functions as a gateway to Crater Lake National Park. A 2006 real estate survey has estimated the population of Roseburg, Oregon at 20,991.
