Montgomery County is located approximately twenty miles west of Center City Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is part of the Delaware Valley and marks the region's northern border with the Lehigh Valley region of the state. Montgomery County was created on September 10, 1784, out of land originally part of Philadelphia County. A 2005 real estate survey has estimated the population of Montgomery County, Pennsylvania at 750,097.
