Kelowna is located in south central British Columbia, on Okanagan Lake. Kelowna is a commercial, manufacturing, and tourist center situated in a major fruit-growing and lumbering region. Principal manufactures include wood products, processed food, transportation equipment, communication equipment, and wine. Located in the central Okanagan Valley, the city boasts many orchards and vineyards, as well as one of BC's largest wineries. A 2006 real estate survey has estimated the population of Kelowna, British Columbia at 162,276. |
