The Kawartha Lakes region has been attracting visitors for over one hundred years. The area includes some of Canada's most important navigable water routes of streams, rivers and lakes. The Trent Severn Waterway, stretching from Georgian Bay to Lake Ontario, has become a popular holiday playground. The communities of Bobcaygeon, Buckhorn, Fenelon Falls, Keene, Lakefield, Lindsay, Millbrook, and Peterborough form the main centres of the area.
