Guelph is located in southeastern Ontario, on the Speed River. An industrial and educational center, manufactures include electrical equipment, textiles, clothing, processed food, rubber goods, chemicals, iron and steel products, and tobacco products. Guelph is part of Canada’s so-called technology triangle, an economic region comprising the cities of Guelph, Cambridge, Kitchener, and Waterloo. A 2006 real estate survey has estimated the population of Guelph, Ontario at 127,009.
