Brantford is located in southern Ontario, on the Grand River. Brantford is an agricultural and manufacturing center. Chief manufactured products include automotive parts, plastics, pharmaceuticals, and processed foods. In 1876 American inventor Alexander Graham Bell made the first long-distance telephone call from his home in Brantford to Paris, Ontario. Known as the Bell Homestead, the house is now a museum. A 2006 real estate survey has estimated the population of Brantford, Ontario at 124,607.
